“The riches are in the niches.” A niche is a topic within a topic. For example, “How to make money” is way too broad and competitive. However, “How to make money as a kid” is a niche because it is more specific.
Choosing a niche allows you to be the best in the world at that topic because there is less competition. My sister loves no-heat hairstyles. That is a niche. Hair and makeup is a category, not a niche it because it is too general.
In choosing your niche you should write down ideas for:
- What you love. What you’re good at. What pays well.
You want to choose the idea that fits all three of these because it is something where you can be the best in the world. Get out a paper and pencil right now and write a list of, “what you love,” then a list of, “what you’re good at,” and “what pays well.”
For knowing what pays well the four rules to follow are:
- Will it help people make money? Will it help people in their relationships? (This is why there are so many styles and makeup youtube channels, girls feel like if they look good guys will like them.) Will it help people become healthier. (Cooking and exercise) Is it an expensive hobby. (Gaming, Golf)
Here are a couple points to consider when choosing a niche.
- Are people searching for your topic? Is there a lot or little competition? If I become super successful would I feel comfortable telling my Grandma? How can I earn money in this niche? Can I write/record at least 50 posts in this niche? Do I have the ability to create an “Insanely Valuable Resource?”
