Travelling Route 66
The trip starts here in Chicago.
Travelling onwards you arrive at St. Louis famous for the Gateway Arch. It was close by where the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery set off up the Missouri river in 1804 to discover the lands to the west.
Whilst in the city it is probably worth visiting the Anheuser-Busch brewery, the home of Budweiser.
We now leave Missouri and enter the corner of Kansas for only 13 miles and the first town you encounter is Galena, another town that the world has forgotten. It is worth a visit however as apparently the old tow truck outside the Kan-O-Tex gas station was the inspiration for the character Tow Mater from the animated film 'Cars'.
Whilst there also visit the local Museum which has much to offer.
