Make Money Online, Online Scams – Red flags to look out for

A lot of us who have ventured into the online world have been either scammed or being close

to being scammed before. There are so many ways that people promise that you can make money online, that it can be hard to figure out which one is legit and which one is a scam. Make money online scams far outnumbers the legit programs out there in my opinion. Just go to Facebook or Google+ and view one of the affiliate marketing communities or work from home communities, and you will see it is flooded with post promising you this and that, without you having to lift a finger.

Promise me one thing, after you have read this post and continue looking for an online opportunity for you, keep my red flags in mind. It can save you a lot of time and possible money by steering away from those sites. So lets get into it.

What to look out for.

Make money online scams – Red Flag #1

Posts, websites or banners that promise you that you can make $1000, $1500 or $2000 a day almost instantly. Heck I have even seen some promising even more money, but typically it is around $1000 a day in most ads.

The Truth: Down the road it is possible to make a lot of money each day if you

work hard. The one thing you have to remember is that it doesn’t happen overnight. You might see screenshots of earnings to prove their point, but they are more than likely fake, or they are not the screenshot of a user who just joined their program. It is just a tactic to lure you in and get you interested.

Make money online scams – Red Flag #2

If the company require you to buy software in order to get started with their program. This is a common scam when it comes to online medical billing. They tell you that in order to get started you have to get this software and sometimes even other items.

The Truth: You should never have to buy any software to get started on a online program. The software needed should be provided when you sign up free of charge, or if your computer is not up to date, you should be able to get it at the local computer store. Do not put in your credit card number before researching if this is really needed.

Make money online scams – Red Flag #3

This kinda goes along with the last one. If the company or program you sign up for requires you to pay an upfront fee, before they will let you in, you need to get out.

The Truth: There should always be at least a trial period, before you decide if this is for you.

Some programs have trial periods and others have free membership and paid membership, both of them are perfectly fine because it gives you time to decide. The one I decided to join have a free and a paid membership. Think about these programs: Amazon Prime, Hulu, Netflix, Sling TV, MyFico. com and freecreditreport. com. All of them gives you anywhere from 7 to 30 days to try out their product before they charge you. It is the right thing to do when signing up for something online, and it gives the consumer a piece of mind.

Make money online scams – Red Flag #4

If you are researching the company or program that you want to sign up for, and cant really find any contact information on them. They might not have a picture of the owner or anywhere to send correspondence if that is needed. It doesnt give you a lot of information about what they are promoting or selling.

The Truth: Would you work for a company whether it is online or a 9-5 job, where you have no idea of who the boss is or what the company deals with. When you Google it nothing shows up, maybe just an address somewhere but no name to associate it with. If it is a legit company the owner(s) should be proud of it, stand behind it and promote it.

Make money online scams – Red Flag #5

Programs that tells you that you need to sign up right now to get a deal of a lifetime. Programs that tells you that you can earn x amount of dollars if you sign up within this time period. The sense of urgency in their message almost overshadows what they are trying to get you to sign up for.

The Truth: You should never feel pressured to join any program whatsoever. More than likely if you decide to join that program the same offer will be there when you are ready. Always and I mean always research the program first. Compare the pro’s and the con’s and decide if it is for you. There are going to good and bad reviews of every single program out there if you Google it, just as there are good or bad reviews of everything else you can buy in the world.

Make money online scams – Red Flag #6

The program promises you to get rich fast. You get promised that all you have to do is to click on a few links and get paid big bucks that way. You get promised that no training or work is needed or you just have to click on emails.

The Truth: The good old saying works here: If it sounds to good to be true, it more than likely is. You cant get rich fast without winning the lotto, get lucky at the casino or have a rich family member who passed away and left it all for you. You can get rich, but it takes work, passion and dedication. It doesn’t happen overnight. More than likely the people who have you click on emails or links get paid for you doing it, and you may earn a few pennies.

Final Thoughts.

In conclusion I want to say that it is sad that there are so many scams out there. It can really make it difficult for someone who is just trying get into the business, mo matter if it is for a little extra cash or a full time income. Some of my peers sees surveys as scams, and yes there are scam survey sites too, but for me I see it as a place, where you can earn some gift cards if you have the time and patience. It is a personal preference.

I want you to use your gut feeling when you venture into this. Make sure you can try it out without paying and make sure that there is a lot of information available about the program online.

One last thing about reviews. No program is perfect and will never be. Things can always get better. If you find a program and the reviews are either 5 out of 5 stars or 1 out of 5 start, more than likely the good reviews are fake. If there is no middle you no that something is missing.

I am part of Wealthy Affiliate and they offer everything that I need. It took me weeks of research before I decided to join, because i have lost money before. If you are interested in my review of them, I have that right here.

I wish you all the best and hope you will find the program that speaks to you. Just remember to follow your gut feeling. If you have any other make money online scams that you want me to add, please comment below in the comment field and I will add them. Also feel free to discuss and ask questions.
