The livehood of 83% of our population depends on agriculture but the agro food industry did not get the attention that it deserved. The time has now come to diversify and commercialise agriculture and develop a dynamic agro processing industry of global standard. But the food processing is one of the most under developed almost unexploited segment of agriculture industry, though this segment of our economy has vast potential. NIIR kept this in mind and came out with a plantation book which title" Detailed Project Profiles on Plantations" (Agro Based Projects) compiled Mr. Ajay Kr. Gupta. The book contains latest plantations techniques, process of plantation, market survey, addresses of machineries and raw material suppliers and Project Profiles of the following items.
