Household chores like emptying the garbage and feeding the dog are activities that even young children can do. Set up a daily chore chart with a set price for a specific activity, i. e. 50 cents for sweeping the porch, or 30 cents for cleaning the cat box. Cross off chores as they are completed. With young children below the age of 8 years old, it is best to pay them daily as they cannot think very far in advance. Older children can be paid on a weekly basis.
Household chores like cleaning and pet care as well as yard care like raking leaves and pulling weeds can be done in your own home or for neighbors who could use a little help. Senior citizens especially often need help around the home and would appreciate interacting with kids.
