I didn't do it, but I filed the thought away…

S. E. Hinton was the first person who ever gave me hope that I could be a writer.

It was not the fact that she was a woman that inspired me, it was the fact that she was a teenager (like me) that gave me hope.

“If she can do it, I can do it.”

S. E Hinton's first book, The Outsiders. was released in 1967.

That was almost 50 years ago. 50 years ago a teenage girl was changing lives.

That was way before the power of the internet and social media.
